Deon Jackson (January 26, 1946 - April 18, 2014) was a soul singer and songwriter with smooth vocals and a great deal of crossover appeal who became famous during the mid and late 1960s. Best known for the self-penned "Love Makes The World Go Round" (1966), a Top 5 R&B smash that also made the Pop/Rock Top 20, other hits include "Love Takes A Long Time Growing" (1966) and "Ooh Baby" (1967).
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he performed in a number of vocal groups and as a soloist in his teens and was signed by producer Ollie McLaughlin while still in high school.
