Eddie Holland is a highly acclaimed and veteran singer, songwriter, and record producer who became famous beginning in the early 1960s as one third of the renowned Motown songwriting and production team, Holland-Dozier-Holland. As a recording artist, he is best known for the uptempo Jackie Wilson sound-alike romantic ballad, "Jamie" (1962), an R&B Top 10 smash that made the Pop/Rock Top 40 and became his biggest crossover success.

Born Edward James Holland Jr. in Detroit, Michigan, he began in the early 1960s as a solo artist, scoring his first and biggest hit with "Jamie." He transitioned soon after from performing to songwriting, joining forces with his brother Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier (June 16, 1941 - August 8, 2022) to form Holland-Dozier-Holland. They were pivotal in shaping the Motown sound, crafting numerous chart-topping hits for such top acts as The Supremes, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, and Martha & The Vandellas, and contributing to over 200 hits during the 1960s. Eddie Holland's career has spanned several decades, and he continues to be celebrated for his significant impact on pop music. His numerous honors and accolades include being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 as part of Holland-Dozier-Holland.
