The Emotions - Songs

ABOUT

The Emotions are a highly acclaimed and veteran female R&B/soul group with powerful, expressive vocals that became famous during the 1970s. Best known for the exuberant, disco-infused "Best Of My Love" (1977), which topped both the R&B and Pop/Rock charts, other hits include the heartfelt "So I Can Love You" (1969), the sultry "Don't Ask My Neighbors" (1977), and the funky "Boogie Wonderland" (1979, with Earth, Wind & Fire).

Formed in 1962 in Chicago, the original lineup consisted of sisters Sheila, Jeanette, and lead singer Wanda Hutchinson, with a number of personnel changes over the years. The sibling trio first performed as a child gospel group known as The Hutchinson Sunbeams before transitioning to R&B and changing their name to The Emotions in 1968. Their platinum-certified signature song, "Best Of My Love," won a Grammy in 1977 for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and also won an American Music Award For Favorite Soul/R&B Single. The Emotions have continued to record and perform actively to the present day.
