ABOUT
Frijid Pink is a veteran hard rock band that became famous during the early 1970s. They are best known for their psychedelic, hard-driving, 4/4 time remake of the traditional folk song, "House Of The Rising Sun" (1970), a Top 10 hit in the U.S. as well as many other countries worldwide that became a million-seller.
Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1967, the original lineup consisted of Tom Harris (bass), Richard Stevers (drums), Gary Ray Thompson (guitar), and lead singer Tom Beaudry (d. 2021), who later went by the stage name, Kelly Green. The band spent their first two years touring throughout the Southeast Michigan/Detroit area, amassing a loyal following, before signing with Parrot Records in 1969. By 1975, the band had dissolved, with many personnel changes along the way. Stevers reformed Frijid Pink in 2007 with all new members, and the band has continued to record and perform actively to the present day.
