ABOUT

Gale Garnett (b. 1942) is a highly acclaimed New Zealand-born Canadian singer, songwriter, actress, and author who became famous during the mid 1960s. She is best known in the U.S. for the self-penned, Grammy-winning folk ballad, "We'll Sing In The Sunshine" (1964), which topped the Adult Contemporary chart, made the Pop/Rock Top 5, and became a million-seller.

Born Gale Zoe Garnett in Auckland, New Zealand, she moved to Canada with her family when she was 11 and made her public singing debut in 1960 while also pursuing an acting career. She was signed by RCA Victor Records in 1963, and at the height of her commercial fame, appeared on ABC's "Shindig!" and "The Lloyd Thaxton Show." Garnett continued to record through the remainder of the 1960s and made many TV and movie appearances through the early 2000s that include a supporting role in the 2002 romantic comedy, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." She also wrote essays, columns, and book reviews for various newspapers and magazines and penned several novels.
