ABOUT

Larry Hall (June 30, 1940 - September 24, 1997) was a pop/rockabilly singer who became famous during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He is best known for the sweet, romantic "Sandy" (1959), a Top 20 smash which was ranked #100 by Billboard in its list of Top 100 singles of 1960 and also became a Top 10 hit on the Canadian charts.

Born Lawrence Kendall Hall in Hamlet, Ohio, he launched his music career while in his late teens and by the end of 1959, had signed with the Strand label and appeared on "American Bandstand." At the height of his commercial fame, he released several singles and one album, "Sandy And Other Larry Hall Hits!" (1960). Hall moved to Oregon in the late 1960s with his family where he had a farm and continued to sing and play guitar at various local venues, often accompanied by his brother Gene, until his passing at age 57.
