ABOUT
Terry Jacks (b. 1944) is a highly acclaimed and veteran Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer who became famous during the mid 1970s. He is best known internationally for "Seasons In The Sun" (1974), a million-seller English-language adaptation of a Jacques Brel song which topped both the U.S. AC and Pop/Rock charts as well as many countries worldwide.
Born Terrence Ross Jacks in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he formed a band at 18 known as The Chessmen which had several Top 10 hits between 1964-1966. He then formed The Poppy Family with Susan Pesklevits (whom he later married), best known for "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" (1970), which became a million-seller and won a Juno Award. After a highly successful solo career, Jacks shifted his focus to environmental activism, founding Environmental Watch to combat pulp mill pollution in British Columbia.
