ABOUT

Carol Douglas (b. 1948) is a veteran R&B/soul/disco singer and actress with clear, powerful vocals who became famous during the mid 1970s at the dawn of the disco era. Best known for the feel-good disco smash, "Doctor's Orders" (1974), other hits include "A Hurricane Is Coming Tonight" (1975).

Born in Brooklyn, New York into a musical family, Carol Douglas launched her music career while still in her teens and released her first recordings in the mid 1960s on RCA as Carolyn Cooke. She also recorded several TV commercial jingles and has continued to perform and record actively over the years.
