ABOUT
The Electric Prunes are a veteran psychedelic rock band incorporating electronic music elements into their unique and innovative sound that became famous during the late 1960s. Best known for the edgy and haunting "I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)" (1966) featuring eerie distorted guitar riffs and dreamy vocals, other hits include the hard-driving and hypnotic "Get Me To The World On Time" (1967).
Formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, the classic lineup consisted of Preston Ritter (drums, percussion), James "Weasel" Spagnola (rhythm guitar, backing and lead vocals), Mark Tulin (bass, keyboards), Ken Williams (lead guitar), and lead singer James Lowe (harmonica, percussion, theremin, guitar, autoharp), with a number of personnel changes over the years. The Electric Prunes have continued to perform and record actively to the present day, with Lowe the only remaining original member.
