ABOUT
The Foundations were an English R&B/soul/pop band made up of members from diverse backgrounds (British, West Indian, and Sri Lankan) that became famous during the late 1960s. Best known for the bouncy bubblegum smash, "Build Me Up Buttercup" (1969), other top hits include " Baby, Now That I've Found You" (1967).
Formed in London in 1966, the original lineup consisted of Eric Allandale (horns), Pat Burke (horns), Mike Elliott (horns), Tony Gomez (keyboards), Tim Harris (drums), Peter MacBeth (bass), Alan Warner (guitar), and lead singer Clem Curtis (November 28, 1940 - March 27, 2017) who was replaced by Colin Young in 1968. By late 1970, The Foundations had disbanded and Young went solo.
