ABOUT
The Innocents were a pop vocal group from Sun Valley, California that became famous during the early 1960s. They are best known for "Honest I Do" (1960) and "Gee Whiz" (1960), which both made the Pop/Rock Top 40.
Formed in 1958 and first known as The Echoes, the lineup consisted of Al Candelaria (baritone), Darron Stankey (second tenor), and lead singer James West (first tenor). In addition to their own hits, The Innocents also provided backing vocals for Kathy Young and can be heard on her Top 5 smash, "A Thousand Stars" (1960), and other hits. The Innocents disbanded in 1964 and reunited in the 1990s for special performances.
