ABOUT
Johnny Burnette (March 25, 1934 - August 14, 1964) was a rockabilly/pop singer and songwriter who became famous during the early 1960s. Best known for the original version of the oldies classic, "You're Sixteen" (1960), which later topped the charts for Ringo Starr, other hits include "Dreamin'" (1960), "Little Boy Sad" (1961), and "God, Country And My Baby" (1962). Burnette and his older brother Dorsey also had a hit in 1961 as The Texans with the instrumental, "The Green Grass Of Texas." His career and life were tragically cut short in 1964 at age 30 in a boating accident.
